I hate chemistry
October 02, 2003, 10:34 p.m.

Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow.

Ow. Ow.

Ow, dammit!

My ear hurts again. I'm hoping this isn't going to be a reoccuring infection. Knowing my luck it is, seeing as how I'm now almost completely deaf in that ear. Somebody in the big house loves me.

I've been reading a little Harry Potter fanfiction story. It's actually pretty good, but the very beginning of the story seems odd and the people were written a tad out of character. Other than that, it's an interestion storyline... so far.

Of course, I'm speaking only from reading the third chapter.

Today was an odd day, mostly because I was partially deaf. It's amazing how much one's hearing is hindered by losing the ability to hear in one ear. In English, we had to take notes from a movie. Problem? Yes. I managed to miss most of the important parts of the documentary. I must make that up later.

Since I really could hear the band that well in class, I had a hard time with tuning my piccolo to everyone else. I noticed that I kept getting glares from Adam, who was on the opposite side of the room, but there was really nothing I could do about it, since I wasn't sure whether I was sharp or flat.

Damn piccolos for being grossly out of tune.

Driver's Ed was fine. We practiced lane changes. Easy as pie. This was so we could get used to checking our blind spots. I found out that my friend Artiom was transfered to my class. Yay, I now have him for Chemistry, Driver's Ed, and English.

Damn Russian.

No offense.

Afterschool, I headed to the chorus room to join the Tri-M. It's basically the Music Honors Society. Unfortunately, because I had to sign up there, I missed the Krop Reads! meeting. Woopie.

When I got home I slept and then worked on Chem homework.

Never ask Fonzo for help on chemistry homework. He gave me about half of the steps and I had to figure out the rest on my own.

Miamigurl123 (8:36:19 PM): But anyway, how do you find the density without the volume?

Fonzo4sho (8:36:30 PM): u have 2 get the volume

Miamigurl123 (8:36:46 PM): I figured, but how?

Fonzo4sho (8:36:47 PM): n then convert it 2 ....from cm to mm

Fonzo4sho (8:38:15 PM): u have 2 get...... 75...? divided by 2pie

Fonzo4sho (8:38:21 PM): that = 12

Fonzo4sho (8:38:24 PM): got me so far?

Fonzo4sho (8:38:30 PM): thats the volume

Fonzo4sho (8:38:43 PM): hello!

Fonzo4sho (8:38:48 PM): !

Miamigurl123 (8:38:51 PM): What about the 75.4?

Fonzo4sho (8:39:01 PM): thats whut i was talkin bout

Miamigurl123 (8:39:08 PM): Oh, right.

Fonzo4sho (8:39:11 PM): divide that by 2pie

Miamigurl123 (8:39:31 PM): Ok

Fonzo4sho (8:39:34 PM): its gunna b like 12.001 or sumthin

Fonzo4sho (8:39:41 PM): wow i have a good memory

Miamigurl123 (8:39:46 PM): I love you!

Fonzo4sho (8:40:04 PM): i no u do

Miamigurl123 (8:40:10 PM): So that'd be 12 mm, wouldn't it?

Fonzo4sho (8:40:20 PM): no cm

Fonzo4sho (8:40:26 PM): yea yea

Fonzo4sho (8:40:39 PM): then u convert it 2 1.2 cm

Fonzo4sho (8:40:47 PM): or the other way around.....

Miamigurl123 (8:40:53 PM): It's in mm.

Fonzo4sho (8:40:57 PM): i just no the # is 1.2

Miamigurl123 (8:41:02 PM): Ok.

Miamigurl123 (8:41:08 PM): It's mm to cm

Fonzo4sho (8:41:12 PM): yea

Fonzo4sho (8:41:47 PM): n then u take that n find the density

Miamigurl123 (8:41:53 PM): Yay

Miamigurl123 (8:42:58 PM): and that gave me 68 cm/g3

Fonzo4sho (8:43:15 PM): ...

Fonzo4sho (8:43:18 PM): sumthin rong

Fonzo4sho (8:43:22 PM): i dont think so

Miamigurl123 (8:43:33 PM): Mass is 82.1 g

Fonzo4sho (8:43:47 PM): its cm3/g

Fonzo4sho (8:43:52 PM): i think

Fonzo4sho (8:43:56 PM): but the # is rong

Miamigurl123 (8:44:08 PM): Is that the correct mass?

Fonzo4sho (8:44:47 PM): o yea i think

Fonzo4sho (8:44:56 PM): but u have 2 keep the smae sig figs!!!!

Fonzo4sho (8:45:05 PM): so it would have been 75.40

Fonzo4sho (8:45:11 PM): n 82,10

Miamigurl123 (8:45:43 PM): Sig figs? I did. If the volume is 1.2, that's two sig figs.

Miamigurl123 (8:45:55 PM): So it would be D=m/v

Fonzo4sho (8:46:04 PM): noooooooo the original sig figs u gad

Fonzo4sho (8:46:23 PM): thats 75.40

Fonzo4sho (8:46:36 PM): he even says so in the question

Miamigurl123 (8:46:42 PM): How did we get four sigfigs?

Fonzo4sho (8:46:59 PM): thats whut the original problem had!!!!!

Fonzo4sho (8:47:16 PM): duuuuuuh

Fonzo4sho (8:47:22 PM): come on hurry i have 2 gooooooo

Miamigurl123 (8:47:24 PM): I don't have the problem!!!

Miamigurl123 (8:47:31 PM): I wrote it by hand from a friend.

Fonzo4sho (8:47:33 PM): u dont have the paper?

Fonzo4sho (8:47:37 PM): thats yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Miamigurl123 (8:47:38 PM): 'Cause my folder's kinda with my book.

Fonzo4sho (8:47:46 PM): grrrrr loser

Miamigurl123 (8:47:49 PM): lol

Fonzo4sho (8:47:58 PM): i expect this 4rm me not u

Miamigurl123 (8:49:58 PM): And I still get 68

Miamigurl123 (8:50:37 PM): Even with the sigfigs.

Miamigurl123 (8:51:52 PM): No wonder!

Miamigurl123 (8:52:26 PM): 75.4/2pi isn't 12-ish

Miamigurl123 (8:52:54 PM): Wait, it is,

Miamigurl123 (8:52:56 PM): Gr.

Fonzo4sho (8:52:57 PM): whut u gt

Fonzo4sho (8:52:58 PM): get

Fonzo4sho (8:53:06 PM): thank u

Miamigurl123 (8:53:07 PM): 12.006

Fonzo4sho (8:53:10 PM): i do remember that well

Fonzo4sho (8:53:12 PM): told u

Miamigurl123 (8:53:20 PM): So yea.

Miamigurl123 (8:53:26 PM): What the hell did I do wrong?

Fonzo4sho (8:53:36 PM): i dunno

Miamigurl123 (8:53:51 PM): Ok, It's 12.01 mm

Fonzo4sho (8:54:04 PM): yea

Miamigurl123 (8:54:37 PM): Wait, how many mm are in a cm?

Miamigurl123 (8:54:50 PM): 100?

Fonzo4sho (8:54:58 PM): 1cm = 10 mm

Miamigurl123 (8:55:04 PM): Right.

Miamigurl123 (8:56:11 PM): So the volume is 12.01.

Miamigurl123 (8:56:21 PM): I must not have the mass correctly.

Fonzo4sho (8:56:22 PM): yea

Miamigurl123 (8:56:37 PM): Any idea what the mass was>

Miamigurl123 (8:57:35 PM): It's a sad, sad day when I'm asking you for chem help. ;p

Miamigurl123 (8:57:38 PM): No offense, of course.

Fonzo4sho (8:59:11 PM): yea

Miamigurl123 (9:00:57 PM): So do you remember the mass?

Fonzo4sho (9:01:06 PM): nope

Fonzo4sho (9:01:09 PM): u might b right

Miamigurl123 (9:03:55 PM): You think? You sure>

Fonzo4sho (9:04:18 PM): nope

Fonzo4sho (9:04:34 PM): i no the answer is 0.034

Miamigurl123 (9:04:39 PM): Gr.

Fonzo4sho (9:04:40 PM): 100%sure

Miamigurl123 (9:05:46 PM): That's the density of lead?

Fonzo4sho (9:06:02 PM): i am not sure its lead but i no thats the answer

Miamigurl123 (9:07:40 PM): So you only had to find the density?

Miamigurl123 (9:07:48 PM): Or is there another step?

Fonzo4sho (9:08:15 PM): when u found the density u found whatt he thing is

Miamigurl123 (9:08:34 PM): So I'd have to be missing a step.

Fonzo4sho (9:09:12 PM): hwen u found the density u look on page 855 if book n match the density n then u found the element

Fonzo4sho (9:09:19 PM): then that would b ur answer

Fonzo4sho (9:09:24 PM): he told us it was a metal

Fonzo, Fonzo. WRONG, BOY. We had to use the circumference of the circle to find the radius. And we used the radius to find the volume of the sphere! And with that volume, we plugged it into the density formula, which came out to 11.3 g/cm3!! That's lead!

Morons.
