Restroom Etiquette
January 12, 2005, 7:23 p.m.

I'd like to know something, because this idea has been bugging me all day since 11 in the morning:

Why do people wash their hands in the restroom?

Okay, I know this is an obvious question. School restrooms are not the cleanest rooms in the school-- especially not the girl's restrooms. Inside, some girls are rather sloppy with their... uh... monthly problem, and oftentimes one can find their... problem... all over the toilet seat. Or in the toilet bowl along with fifty pounds of toilet paper.

So obviously, the reason to wash your hands is apparent.

No, but that's not what this entry is about. This entry is about the fact that some people don't really wash their hands; they merely turn on the water and stick their hands under the running aqueous solution for a mere milisecond, then pull it out quickly, walking away with the feeling that they're actually clean, when in actually they probably got their fingertips a little wet.

That's absolutely disgusting.

What is the point in this? Why do they even bother? They might as well not stick their hands in the water at all! Just wipe your behind, flush, and walk out. No need to take up space in the bathroom longer than you need to.

I mean, the school pays money to stock our bathrooms with two soap dispensers. Two. Each (excluding the ones where they have fallen off of the walls and have yet to be replaced). Where do you have to go in such a hurry during the middle of class that you can't stop to wash your hands?

And, the more horrifying thought: this was about ten minutes before lunch.

I seriously hope those people get food poisoning. They deserve it.

I shall get to a more interesting topic when I get back from dinner.

Ta-ta.
